The Nupes of MWAC are giving support to our Black Cinema!
Marvel's BLACK PANTHER is the first solo black superhero movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The film is directed by African-American Ryan Coogler and stars Chadwick Boseman as T'Challa / Black Panther, alongside Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong'o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker, and Andy Serkis. In Black Panther, T'Challa returns home as king of Wakanda but finds his sovereignty challenged by a long-time adversary in a conflict that has global consequences.
MWAC supported the film during Black History Month by spreading the word to family and friends about this movie and the positive portrayal of African-Americans rarely seen in film.
